Amanu

Pronounced: ah-MAH-noo-ehl

Amanuel (Amanu) was born outside of wedlock. After hearing of her pregnancy, Amanu’s father left his mother, and she considered having an abortion. In addition to that, based on the customs/practices of those in their area, he is considered an outcast. Thankfully, someone encouraged her to entrust him into EGCH’s care as an alternative. The above factors combined with poverty, and health problems Amanu experienced as an infant, she finally made the decision to bring him to EGCH in February 2011. He now attends elementary school in Hawassa.
